CSEAR Ireland announce PhD (En)lightning Research Presentations on 29th Apr 2026

PhD students are invited to present their research in a fast-paced academic session designed to develop concise and effective research communication skills.

About (en)lightning presentations

  • Lightning presentations are short and crisp talks with a limited number of powerpoint slides intended to give a snapshot of one's research.
  • For our event;
    • Max 3 slides
    • 5 minutes per presenter
  • There will be no Q&A during the presentations. Instead, questions and feedback will form part of a communal discussion after all presentations have been made.
  • The idea is not to squish a formal conference presentation into 5 minutes, but rather to use the time to quickly introduce your research work to the audience.

  • A 300-word abstract outlining your PhD research
  • Email submission deadline: 31 March 2026 | 5:00 PM

Places are limited and abstracts will be reviewed for selection.
