Dr Jean McCarthy Fulbright Alumni Ambassador for UL

Congratulations to Dr Jean McCarthy, Kemmy Business School, the new Fulbright Alumni Ambassador for the University of Limerick (pictured here with AmbassadorDaniel Mulhall). Dr McCarthy takes up the Fulbright Ambassador mantle from Dr Finbarr Murphy, who has served in this role at UL for the last two years and contributed greatly to enhanced engagement on campus.

The Fulbright Program offers international educational and cultural exchange programs for students, scholars, artists to pursue important research and professional projects. It is one of the most prestigious and competitive fellowship programs in the world. The Fulbright Commission in Ireland annually awards grants for Irish citizens to study, research, or teach in the U.S. and for Americans to do the same in Ireland. The aim of the Ambassador program is to have a Fulbright contact on campus so that students, researchers & lecturers can access guidance on how to approach their Fulbright applications and easily engage with the Fulbright network. You can contact Dr McCarthy via Fulbright@ul.ie

Dr McCarthy is pleased to announce that a Fulbright Awards Workshop will take place on Friday, 23 August 2019, from  11am-1pm, in KBG-16 (Kemmy Business School) for all faculty at UL interested in applying for a Fulbright Scholarship. This workshop will provide information on awards from the Irish Fulbright Commission, and advice on the application process from both the Commission and a panel of Fulbright alumni.
