Last Friday 17th September, the School of Law was delighted to host an event, along with the School of Law NUIG and the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, on Judicial Education and Training in Ireland.
Over 60 national and international judges, academics, practitioners and civil society organisations attended and contributed to the seminar. A number of members of staff from the School also took part including Dr Laura Cahillane, Professor Paul McCutcheon, Dr Jennifer Schweppe who presented with Prof Amanda Haynes (Sociology), and Saoirse Enright who is a PhD candidate in the School of Law.
The event, organised by Dr Laura Cahillane and Dr Rónán Kennedy is part of a larger project focusing on the recently established Judicial Council and is funded by the Irish Research Council.
A further event examining the new judicial conduct framework will take place on 22nd October.
