The University of Limerick and University College Cork are delighted to host an interdisciplinary online conference entitled 'Virtual Exchange in Higher Education: Charting the Irish Experience'The event will take place on MS Teams on Friday 17 September 2021. Please see the conference website for more information and registration details. All are welcome to attend this free event, but registration is essential before Wednesday 15 September @ 12pm.

   

The keynote address will be given by Prof. Robert O'Dowd from the University of León, Spain. He is an alumnus of UL and is renowned internationally for his work in the domain of Online Intercultural Exchange (bio here). In his presentation, he will draw on recent publications from large-scale Virtual Exchange initiatives (EVALUATE, EVOLVE) as well as other key publications from the Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) literature to try and answer three questions: What do students learn from Virtual Exchange? How can we support teachers who want to become involved in the activity? And what can we identify as examples of good practice for implementing Virtual Exchange in university classrooms?
