We are delighted to be able to give Transition Year students the opportunity to learn about our courses, subject areas and career pathways by attending our TY Taster Day.
What will the event look like?
The event will be a mix of live and pre-recorded sessions which will cover our programmes and also supports on offer.
How much time should students allocate?
The length of time allocated is up to each individual student/school. Live talks will be at 10am, 11am and 2pm. Details below. Outside of this, students can watch our pre-recorded lectures and sessions at any time. Links will be sent on by email the day before.
- 10am – Introduction to our subject areas and programmes
- 11am – Live Q&A with current students
- 2pm – Repeat of introduction session for those joining in the afternoon
How do students access the event?
This will be a virtual event; links will be sent on the day before the TY Taster. Students can access using their own devices to watch specific videos (phone, laptop or tablet) or they could possibly watch a selection of the videos as a group if there were audio-visual equipment in the room and they could compromise on which videos they would like to watch.
Is there anything else we need to know?
All attendees will also receive a link to a short and easy UL quiz. All who attempt the quiz and provide their email address will be in with a chance to win a UL hoodie and will also receive a PDF certificate of attendance signed by our Executive Dean by email within a couple of days. It’s hoped that this may be useful for personal portfolios.
