If you believe your grade in a module has been recorded incorrectly, you can request a recheck of your grade within two weeks of the results becoming available.

To request a recheck:

  1. Complete the Recheck Form and submit it to the Academic Registry via email as instructed in the form. We will then phone you to process your card payment for the €25 deposit which will be refunded to you in the event of a grade change.
Please note: Students are responsible for ensuring their banking details on the Student Portal are up to date. Failure to do so may result in non-payment in the event of a refund.
  2. You will be notified via your UL student email with the grade recheck decision.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of a grade recheck, you may appeal the decision within two weeks of the publication of the recheck result. The appeal must be on stated grounds and should include a full and complete statement on why you believe your grade was awarded incorrectly.

In order to appeal a grade recheck, you must complete a Grade Appeal Form and submit it to the Academic Registry along with a fee of €50, which will be refunded to you in the event of a grade change.

Please note: Students are responsible for ensuring their banking details on the Student Portal are up to date. Failure to do so may result in non-payment in the event of a refund.

Appeal decisions are made by the relevant Head of Department. All decisions are final.

Grade rechecks and appeals cannot be carried out on those parts of an assessment where a satisfactory record of the original assessment is not available. This includes assessments where the original submission by the student does not remain under the control of the University or where sufficient records are not available to permit re-grading.
