The next event in the Limerick History Research Seminar series takes place on Wednesday 6 November 2019 at 5.30 p.m. in room G08 (Mary Immaculate College). Professor Margaret Kelleher (UCD) will speak on ‘Reading between the lines: recovering the history of Myles Joyce and events at Maamtrasna, 1882’. Margaret Kelleher is Professor and Chair of Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama at University College Dublin. Her 2018 book The Maamtrasna murders: language, life and death in nineteenth-century Ireland (UCD Press) was awarded the Michael J. Durkan Prize for Books in Language and Culture by the American Conference for Irish Studies in Spring 2019. You’ll find more on Professor Kelleher’s work here:
