The All Ireland Institute for Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC) recently held a research programme symposium for the All Ireland Palliative Care Research Network (P.C.R.N.) in Dublin.
The purpose of the event was to review existing research projects and expertise within the Network, develop relationships with new and potential research partners, provide opportunities to progress research potential and foster strategic leadership for future projects and to develop targeted grant proposals for submission to national and international funders.
The event was attended by all Principal Investigators currently in the Network as well as AIIHPC’s newest consortium partner, University College Cork. Postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers attached to the various work projects also attended. Presentations on national and international funding schemes, particularly Horizon 2020, were delivered by the Health Research Board and the Public Health Agency Research & Development Division (Northern Ireland).
The event was facilitated by Professor Colum Dunne, Chair & Director of Research, Medical School, University of Limerick. Over 30 researchers attended the symposium.
