Kemmy Business School Project Management Degree Accredited by PMI Global Accreditation Center

The MSc in Project Management programme at the Kemmy Business School was accredited by the Project Management Institute, Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC) effective from 1 May 2013.

Degree programmes that achieve GAC accreditation must meet the GAC’s rigorous global standards of accreditation, which include an assessment of each programme’s objectives and outcomes, faculty and student evaluations, onsite and online resources, annual self-evaluation, and proof of continuous improvements in the area of project management education. Achieving GAC accreditation ensures the quality of academic degree programmes, producing highly skilled graduates to meet the needs of the rapidly growing field of project management.

The MSc in Project Management is aimed at preparing graduates for a career within a project-based setting. The programme already has a proven track record of providing high employment and career prospects - all 2012 graduates were in full-time employment within 3 months of completing the program. Employers also recognise the value of a globally accredited qualification and the potential for these graduates to provide the skills and competencies needed in business today.

Dean of the Kemmy Business School, Dr Philip O’Regan, expressed his delight in achieving GAC accreditation, “Project Management has long been an essential element of our teaching here in the Centre for Project Management, dating back to 1991. Through our educational programmes we are committed to providing relevant project management competencies to our students to meet the needs of business and industry both nationally and internationally. Achieving GAC global accreditation ensures that the quality of our programmes is world class and facilitates the future continuous development and sustainability of our programmes in the years ahead.”

Individuals who complete the project management degree also earn 1,500 hours of project management experience toward the PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential examination.

PMI is the world’s largest project management member association, representing more than half a million practitioners in over 185 countries. As a global thought leader and knowledge resource, PMI advances the profession through its global standards and credentials, collaborative chapters, virtual communities and academic research.
