ULSSC : Weekly Check Lists

Each week when the club goes sailing, there is a check list of activities which must happen for each evenings sail to be a relaxed, safe,competitive, safe activity, the emphases is on safe, whether it is relaxed or competitive is your own decision.

 

While new members concentrate on learning more about sailing, returning members of both the ULSSC and KSC, first qualify to do rescue by taking usually a training course organised by ULAC. Each week that sailing occurs on a Tuesday evening one of the club members acts as rescue on the lake.

 

When racing is organised on the lake, both a rescue and a race officer is required. The rescue officer can selected from both new and current members of both the clubs.

 

Prior to sailing each sailor should review this check list.

 

A Race officer , is also required to manages races , the race officer will brief the sailors on the planned activities for the evening,and describe the course of the races which are about to take place. More ..>>

 

A Safety officer, who will ensure that all people sailing are doing so in a safe manor, the safety officer will also assist the race officer with setting out the markers for the race.More .. >>
