The aim of this project is to offer opportunity to tutor and develop ones spatial
ability through the use of interactive imagery. This web based tutorial system has being
curtailed in size and it is during the eventual production of a CD-ROM version that the
tutorials and tests may be expanded to become more thorough. It is hoped that within these
pages the user is afforded sufficient opportunity to begin tutoring their spatial brain in
the five dominant sub-areas of this intelligence form.
 | Links to each of the five sub-factors of spatial intelligence are
available and from each of these an opportunity to see animated examples which
characterise the mental activity associated with each particular sub-factor. |
 | From here you may jump to the testing of a sub-factor, although it
is recommended that you first view the brief tutorial section so that you may gain an
insight into each spatial skill in practical terms. Here you may further accustom your
spatial brain to the mental procedure required, by practising within an interactive
environment. |
 | Each of the test areas allows for testing on three levels,
beginner, intermediate, and experienced. The first of these caters for the
inexperienced visualiser, who perhaps has no technical/mechanical drawing experience and
who feels the tutorial exercises to be reasonably challenging. The intermediate level
carries on from this while the experienced level is recommended for anyone who has studied
technical / mechanical drawing previously. |
 | Once in the tutorial section progression is straight forward -
simply click upon the desired image in order to make a selection. Depending on your answer
you will either be prompted to try again or given confirmation of the correct answer along
with an animated solution and in some instances a virtual environment within which you can
physically manipulate the test objects. (Note: to use this feature you will need a VRML
browser available at www.intervista.com.) |
