Programme of Study
The Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology is a oneyear, full-time, programme. It will consist of six three-credit modules: modules which are composed of lectures, seminars, tutorials and practicals and which are divided equally between two fifteen week semesters. In addition, a substantial music presentation will be prepared for submission at the end of the programme. This will involve an academic and/or musical submission in one of the following: a research dissertation (15,000 words), a musical performance or a musical composition. Supervised tutorials in the context of a Music Practicum in Semester 2 will provide practical and theoretical support for the successful completion of this presentation.
