Introduction
The Master of Arts in Dance Performance is a one-year in, full- time, post-graduate programme. Some students may also have the option to undertake the programme as a 2 year full-time programme of study.
The programme offers advanced tuition in dance and somatic training techniques in the form of daily class and intensive workshops. It also provides students with the opportunity to work on a range of performance projects with a number of choreographers and tutors. The programme is particularly suited to students who want to develop their performance techniques and who are interested in researching and developing new approaches to devising and performing dance.
Guest tutors and choreographers to date have included Mark Baldwin, Rosemary Butcher, Yoshiko Chuma, Sean Curran, Wendy Houstoun, Eva Karczag, Michael Klien, Mark Taylor, Lisa Nelson, Charles Linehan, Steve Paxton, Nicole Peisl, Yvonne Rainer, Jenny Roche, Liz Roche.
Students are also provided with the opportunity to engage with Daghdha Dance Company, a professional Contemporary Dance Company, resident in Limerick and with strong links with the MA programme.
