Programme of Study

The MA Programme in Community Music is a one year, full-time postgraduate programme. It comprises six modules of lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops (each modules is weighted at three credits) and a final presentation worth nine credits. The final presentation will take the form of an extended written submission, a performance, a community project or a combination of the above. The final format will be decided in consultation with the course director. Students will take two modules and one compulsory elective each semester. The elective module is a self directed module with guided expertise drawn from the staff of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.

The course modules will be conducted both in community settings and at the university campus.
