Tradition Record Label

The Tradition Record Company was cofounded by Patrick Clancy of the Clancy Brothers in 1956 and he recorded many of the legendary artists like Odetta, Lightnin’Hopkins, Ewan McCall, A.L.Lloyd, Jean Ritchie, Oscar Brand, Mary O’Hara and the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. The label was purchased by Rykodisc in 1995 and has continued the "tradition" of excellence which began with the incredible range of roots, folk and world music which were released in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s.
