UL had a comprehensive victory over UCC in this the fourth round of the Datapac league. Played in ideal conditions on the sublime pitch
one in UL, David McCormack opened UL’s account with a free and this was followed up by a great effort from Brendan Bugler before
UCC drew level. UL had points from Ainle O Caireallain(3), Seamus Hickey, Sean Ryan before Ryan O Dwyer scored a good goal for
UL. McCormark added two more frees aswell as two for play to leave the half time score at 1-11 to 0-06.
UL resumed where they left off in the first half with scores from Ryan O Dwyer(2), Shane O Brien, Ainle and Alan Egan. Paul O Flynn
(the red warrior) on a break from teaching practice added three second half points (his flowing locks obviously helping his game).
McCormack added two more frees and Richie Ruth finished off the scoring for UL with a great sideline cut. UCC managed only three
points in the second half against a far supperior UL defence to leave the final score at 1-22 to 0-09.
In an impressevive performance by the team their were a number of excellent individual displays. Seán Ryan and Ryan O'Dwyer were
outstanding, Brendan Bugler had the UCC centre forward Niall Moran under control and he was well backed up in defence by Pat
Donnellan and Tom Stapleton. David McCormack was impressive upfront and he was well aide by Paul O Flynn and Alan Egan.
