TEMPUS Projects

Among TEMPUS projects in which the Centre has been involved are:

(1) Preparation of Civil Servants for the European Union (Bulgaria) 1998-1999
(2) Curriculum development at the National School of Public Administration in Budapest
(Hungary) 1998-1999
(3) Provision on European Studies modules on the Internet (Romania)
(4) Approximation of national legislation to EU acquis (Bulgaria)

EU-China Higher Education Cooperation


Four scholars have visited the Centre in the period 1998-1999, two for six months, and two for twelve months.

Transatlantic Audiovisual Conference


Annually coordinated by the EU Commission Delegation in Washington DC, and linking a network of live audiences in EU and US universities.


Winter School for Linfleld College OR

In January 1999, Linfield College, Oregon, business studies students attended a one-week intensive programme at the Centre focussing on the Single Market, the adoption of the Euro, competition policy and fiscal harmonisation.

The Jean Monnet Summer School in European Integration

Organised annually by the Centre in the month of July, the Summer School attracts students from North America and Europe. The 2000 Summer School (2-18 July) is entitled "Europe 2000" and will explore thechallenge of EU enlargement.

The CEUROS Newsletter is published once a month during the academic year and is distributed locally, but also internationally to Centres of European Studies around the world.
