My principal research interest is the numerical solution of singular perturbation problems, in particular elliptic convection-diffusion problems and some particular cases of theNavier-Stokes equations. I am interested in numerical methods which are uniformly accurate (with respect to the relevant parameter, e.g., the Reynolds number). In recent years I have worked on special piecewise-uniform meshes conceived by G.I.Shishkin of Ekaterinburg in Russia, in collaboration with G.I. Shishkin, John Miller, Eugene O'Riordan and Paul Farrell.
