- Hammad Bin Khaleeq (R & D Engineer) won 1st Prize at College of Engineering, Research Day Poster Competition, May 2000, University of Limerick. The title of the poster was "Design Analysis of Impulse Turbine for Wave Energy Power Conversion"
Hammad Bin Khaleeq, (R & D Engineer) has been awarded the Sir Bernard Crossland Bursary, 2000. The bursary is in it’s fourth year and was awarded in association with the Institution of Engineers of Ireland (IEI) and The Council of Professors of Mechanical Engineering in Irish Universities. Hammad’s paper entitled "Design analysis of 0.6m impulse turbine with fixed guide vanes for wave energy power conversion" won him the award over his peers representing universities all over the country.
The two day event was held in UCD’s Industry Centre and for the first time featured a Postgraduate Workshop. Elvis S. Bajeet (R & D Engineer) won 2nd Prize in the Poster Presentation which was the main focus of the Postgraduate Workshop. Title of his poster was "Wave Energy Conversion - Wells Turbine Performance Analysis using a 3D Navier Stokes Coupled Solver". Enterprise Ireland sponsored the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for the Poster Presentation.
