Information for Honorary Award Recipients
The Honorary Master of Philosophy conferring ceremony will take place at 16h00 on Saturday, 29 September 2012 in the University Concert Hall, University of Limerick.
Invitations
You will receive in the post invitations to bring 5 adult guests to the conferring ceremony (guests must be at least 15 years of age). Please give your guests their tickets – only guests holding tickets will be allowed entry to the University Concert Hall on conferring day. Guests are asked to pay particular attention to the time by which they must be seated, which is printed on the ticket.
Should you require additional guest tickets, please email your request to ceremonies@ul.ie.
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, please return your tickets to the University Concert Hall Box Office.
Arrival
The University Concert Hall (Foundation Building) is building no. 11 on this campus map. Parking will be available in the Foundation Car Park – car park no. 1 on this campus map. You are asked to present yourself, fully robed, by 14h30 at the lining-up area in the Foundation Building basement.
Dress Code
University of Limerick honorary conferrings are formal occasions, and we ask all attendees to dress accordingly.
Robe Hire
Robes will be provided for you on the day and can be collected from the basement of the Foundation Building from 12h00. For this we need to know your height – please email us at ceremonies@ul.ie by 12h00 on Friday, 14 September 2012.
Name on Parchment
Your name may have changed since you graduated from NIHE. Please let us know how you wish your name to appear on your parchment, e.g. Mary O’Connor Smith; John Michael Doyle; Joan Burke. Let us know by email – ceremonies@ul.ie – by 12h00 on Friday, 14 September 2012. If we don’t hear from you by then, we’ll use the name under which you originally registered.
Special Seating Requirements
The University Concert Hall has international-standard access facilities for people with disabilities. Additional facilities include hard-of-hearing induction loops and wheelchair positions in the Auditorium. Should you or any of your guests have any special seating requirements, please email Henrietta.Murphy@ul.ie in advance of the ceremony so that we can provide you with the services you require.
Refreshments
There will be a reception in the Atrium of the Foundation Building for all attendees following the ceremony.
