Technical Communication Section


NETg Lecture Series

The Technical Communication section at the University of Limerick, in association with NETg Ireland runs a very successful lecture series on course design. Willie O'Dea, TD, Minister of State for Education and Science, launched the lecture series. Previous speakers include:  

 

John KellerProfessor John Keller, Florida State University,  who spoke about his famous ARCS model for building motivation into courses.
Professor Keller is director of the Instructional Systems Program at Florida State University.  

 

 

 

Roy Clariana

Professor Roy Clariana, Penn State University, who gave a talk on his research into feedback in technology-based training programs.
Professor Clariana is Associate Professor of Instructional Systems at Penn State University.

 

 

 

Professor David Merrill, Utah State University, who has spoken twice at the lecture series. His inaugural lecture was on the topic of Information Design, and his second lecture, in April 2002 described his theory on First Principles of Instruction.
Professor Merrill is Professor of
Instructional Technology at Utah State University, and an expert in the field of information design and computer-based technology.

                          

 

Dr James Li, President and CEO of Leading Way Knowledge Systems, who presented a lecture and workshop for students describing the knowledge system solutions that Leading Way products incorporate.
