If you have decided that you would like to engage in third level education but unsure as to what would be the most appropriate programme for you the Department of Lifelong Learning & Outreach offers a full educational guidance service for those wishing to pursue such a programme.
This service is provided from the University's Downtown Centre which is operated through the Shannon Consortium and located in Limerick City Centre.

Language Centre at UL
The University of Limerick Language Centre offers high quality English language courses for adults all year round and juniors during the summer months. Our aim is for students to achieve their language learning goals in a friendly, welcoming and safe environment. The Language Centre itself is based in a brand new Languages Building with state of the art language learning facilities including multimedia labs and a digital language lab. General English, Preparation for University and exam preparation are just some of the courses on offer.

Aonad na Gaeilge
Aonad na Gaeilge provides a range of Irish language courses at various levels for the campus community and for the general public. It also offers outreach programmes for the public sector, a module in professional Irish, three beginner modules for study abroad students and a popular part-time Certificate/Diploma in Irish programme.

HR Training & Development
The Learning and Development Section of Human Resources supports the key corporate objective of the University of ensuring excellent performance through progressive development. Our aim is to support the University's strategic plan by delivering focused training and development solutions to all employees that will enable the achievement of these objectives. This ensures that we deliver on a key corporate objective that "all faculty and staff are enabled to achieve their full potential through valuing diversity and equality of opportunity". A further aim is to ensure the most effective use of the talents, skills and abilities of our employees by supporting employees to maximise the contribution they can make. The Learning and Development Section aims to foster close relationships with academic and administrative departments to support them in achieving their objectives.
