those intending to register for a pre-conference workshop
should fill out this form as well as the general SS16

solidarity awards have been made to delegates from countries
which are financially disadvantaged. These awards were made to
cover the registration fee and/or accommodation in the

sponsors who helped to make these awards possible.

students). The full fee is 400 euro. Online
registration is available. You may, as an alternative,
register by downloading a PDF version of the form and faxing
it to the Conference Secretariat. The
Early Registration fee was applicable until 15 March 2006. The

Sign
Language
Simultaneous
translation to Irish Sign Language (ISL) will be available at
the conference. All plenary talks and papers and panels which
are of immediate relevance to the sociolinguistics of sign
language will be interpreted.
Unfortunately
we will not be able to provide ISL interpretation for all the
15 parallel sessions at all times. However, the Organising
Committee requests that those who require sign interpretation
inform the Committee which panels and sessions they wish to
attend by 3 July so that we can be certain that provision be
made accordingly.
Session
with Journal Editors: Wednesday 5 July at 16.30
This
session will take place at 16.30 in the Jean Monnet Lecture
Theatre (JM). It will last for approximately 60 minutes. There
are now a large number of sociolinguistics journals serving
the profession. This session will provide an interactive forum
for editors of some of the leading journals to discuss the
contents of their journals and what areas they would like to
develop or in which they would like to attract
submissions in the short to medium term. Editors present
include: Allan
Bell, Durk Gorter, Alexandra Jaffe, Barbara Johnstone, Marilyn
Martin-Jones, Bernard Spolsky. Chaired by David Atkinson.
