ISBE Teacher Resources

This document includes a link to a teacher toolkit which was designed by the Chain Reaction team as a resource for implementing Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE) in the classroom.

The Pupil Research Briefs (PRBs) which can be used directly in lab or classroom. Some PRBs do not require any lab equipment at all, and can be conducted entirely in the classroom with little more than paper and pen. For example, the Green Light PRB below can be completed in a double lesson using some printed sheets from the PRB and some poster making equipment, yet can still help pupils to learn scientific inquiry in a really engaging way.

The document also provides suggestions as to how these PRBs might be linked with the learning outcomes of the  new Junior Cycle Science specification. Hopefully you will find this of use.
