Gerard Slattery.  BBS, BD, MBS, MPh, PDET, GDE, DRE, CEL, CTEFL, CTG.
Lecturer in Education (Business), School of Education, Faculty of Education and Health Sciences, University of Limerick, Ireland.



 

Research Interests

1. Entrepreneurship Education
The nature of entrepreneurship education and its contribution economically and socially.  Approaches to entrepreneurship in Irish schools at second level.  Curricular options afforded through various programmes already in existence in Irish schools and prospects for development through short course development in junior cycle.  The alignment between principles of the Framework of Junior Cycle and configuration of entrepreneurship initiatives.

2. Teacher Education Systems
The nature of consecutive and concurrent models of teacher education across Europe with particular focus on consecutive approaches across different national education systems and policies.  

3. Formative Assessment
Various approaches to formative assessment and its influences on learning, motivation and accomplishment.  Developing models of feedback to embed learning and spur awareness of and motivation for learning.  Developing ownership of learning.
