Biography

Dr. Jill Murphy
Jill is a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with national and international clinical experience focusing on the well-being and flourishing of older adults. Jill undertook an MSc in Gerontological Nursing whilst rotating through acute, rehabilitation, community, and long-term care units for older persons at Mercer's Institute for Successful Ageing; St. James Hospital Dublin. Jill completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at UCC in 2005. Jill also obtained a certificate in Appreciative Inquiry in 2012. Jill is committed to promoting a positive attitude toward older adults and has a particular interest in the concept of dignity in the area of older persons' residential settings Jill completed her Ph.D. engaging in participatory research methods exploring Dignity through the lens of Appreciative Inquiry in an older adult residential care setting.
