Soapbox event brings UL research to Limerick City

Prof Helena Lenihan introduces Prof Norelee Kennedy to the stage at the Research Soapbox event

As part of the Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival, the University of Limerick hosted its inaugural Research Soapbox at the Fab Lab, Rutland Street, Limerick city centre. Research Soapbox involves researchers from PhD to Professor by highlighting how their research can make a real difference to the economy and society more broadly. The event involved participants from the University of Limerick Thesis in 3 Competition as well as the Research Impact Podcast Series and was moderated by Prof Helena Lenihan (Kemmy Business School), Chair of the UL Research Impact Committee. Speakers included Dr Deirdre O’Shea and Mauricio Perez Alaniz of the Kemmy Business School together with Eileen Courtney, Aileen Bowen Perez and Oisin Kavanagh, Bernal Institute, Michelle Daly, Modern Languages & Applied Linguistics, Caoimhe Tiernan, Physical Education & Sport Sciences, Dr Rosie Gowran, Prof Alan Donnelly and Prof Norelee Kennedy of the School of Allied Health, Dr Rory Costello, Politics & Public Administration and Prof Sean Redmond, School of Law.
