The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25 May 2018, and it has some real implications for how we collect and manage our research data. The Corporate Secretary’s office has published an updated set of FAQs which gives a good overview of best practice in regards to the high-level tenets of the Regulation, and the office is also making in-person and online training available. We are working in the Research & Enterprise Office to provide research-specific guidance around the Regulation, based on UL policy and procedure; the relevant University policies can be accessed on the Corporate Secretary’s website here.
Information on in-person courses on GDPR can be accessed and booked via the UL HR department’s website, here. Access to online training is facilitated via Sulis; please follow the instructions circulated to you directly by the “HRBookings” email account to avail of this online opportunity.
