• HRI Research Day Wednesday 5th December

    As part of the inaugural UL Research Week, the HRI will be holding a Research Day in the Foundation Building on Wednesday 5th December. The day’s events will focus on “fostering a culture of interdisciplinary research to support discovery and innovation in health and wellbeing”.

    Members of the Health Research Institute (HRI) will showcase their research during a poster session in the Foundation Building Atrium. PhD students of HRI members are invited to participate in a poster session competition, in which the winners will have the opportunity to offer elevator pitch presentations.

    Medical device company – Class Medical – a University of Limerick spinout company have secured seed funding of €550,000 from investors including iHPSU match funding from Enterprise Ireland. Class Medical was founded in 2016 by Dr. Rory Mooney (CEO), Prof. Michael Walsh, Dr Niall Davis and Dr Eoghan Cunnane. Class Medical’s initial product offering is a patent protected device that eliminates the risk and complications associated with the treatment of painful urinary problems.
