• UL Researcher to lead Irish partners in European Knowledge Hub on Malnutrition in the Elderly

Dr Eibhlís O'Connor, Dept of Life Sciences who leads Irish partners in Research Team

Following a call from the European Joint Action ‘Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life’ last year, the ‘MaNuEL’ - Malnutrition in the Elderly Knowledge Hub has recently been established, bringing together 21 researchers from groups spanning 7 countries who will work together to deliver key initiatives set out by members over the coming two years.

The aim of this initiative is to bring together experts in the area of malnutrition in the elderly to build a better understanding of the determinants of nutritional deficiencies in older populations across Europe and to build research capacity in this crucial area.

  • Longitudinal Data Analysis Using Structural Equation Modeling - 6 & 7 October 2016

The Platform for Psychological Science at UL (PPS-UL) & Statistical Horizons present a 2-Day Seminar Taught by Paul Allison, Ph.D.:
"Longitudinal Data Analysis Using Structural Equation Modeling"

This seminar is designed for those who want to analyze longitudinal data with three or more time points, and whose primary interest is in the effect of predictors that vary over time. You should have a solid understanding of basic principles of statistical inference, including such concepts as bias, sampling distributions, standard errors, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing. You should also have a good working knowledge of the principles and practice of linear regression.
