Irish higher education institutions periodically undergo institutional-level quality reviews in accordance with European (European Standards and Guidelines; ESGs) and national (1997 Universities Act and 2012 Qualifications and Quality Assurance Education and Training Act) requirements.

The upcoming institutional review
Coordinated by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), the next institutional-level quality review of UL will take place in 2020. Information on institutional-level review activity pertaining to the Irish higher education sector is available on the QQI website here, including the cyclical review handbook for Universities, which guides the review process.
