Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
The Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is a practitioner doctorate that equips the graduate to work as a basic grade clinical psychologist. As a doctoral programme of the University of Limerick, the programme is designed to provide learning opportunities for the attainment of appropriate knowledge, skills and professional attitudes and to foster the student's development as a self-motivating, self-reflecting practitioner.
Primarily, teaching will reflect principles of adult learning including reflective practice, experiential learning, applied workshops and seminars and regular feedback opportunities.
Within the doctoral programme the University aims to ensure that the psychologists in training are able to use doctoral level skills in accessing up-to-date, specialist knowledge, critically analyze research and that students can demonstrate a doctoral level of research skill that will enable them to contribute to professional knowledge.
The Programme aims to foster the development of practitioners who will show excellence and innovation in the use and further development of evidence-based practice.
Closing date for applications for the intake starting in the 2018 Autumn semester is Friday 12th January 2018
