The BA in History, Politics, Sociology and Social Studies (HPSS) is a four-year multidisciplinary programme, three years on campus at UL and one year on work placement and study abroad. You may take modules from a range of academic disciplines, including History, Politics, Sociology, Economics and Public Administration. The programme is carefully crafted to expose you to a wide subject choice in the first year, during which you take introductory modules in four different subjects, as well as specially designed 'academic literacies' modules to help ease the transition to third level education. From the second year onwards, you may specialise in either two 'major' subjects or one 'major' subject and two 'minor' subjects.
