Access All Areas? : A Critical Analysis of Programmes Supporting Greater University Representation of Students from Socio-Econom

The research will examine a Pre-Entry Programme operated by the University of Limerick. An Embedded Single Case-Study approach will be used to analysis the programme. The methodology will adopt a quasi experimental research approach, using the programme as the test group and two schools in the Limerick area as control groups to measure the effectiveness of the intervention. Meta analysis involving all stakeholders in the programme will be conducted, to establish the context and factors which produce successful outcomes for the programme. Finally the research will seek to develop a framework to successfully benchmark all access programmes in Irish HEI's.
