The Department of Politics and Public Administration was created in May 2003 as a successor to the Department of Government and Society. Both Politics and Public Administration have been a significant part of the curriculum at the NIHE  from its foundation in 1972 and since 1989 in its successor, the University of Limerick.

New Programmes 2008                    

BA Politics and International Relations  (Autumn 2008)

The BA in Politics and International Relations provides a firm background in the fields of political science and international relations. The course will give students an understanding of the basic principles of politics at the global, European, national and local levels, as well as grounding in research methods. This degree would be particularly attractive to students interested in current affairs and modern world problems. See more
