UL Careers Day
Attending the University of Limerick Careers Day were Norma O'Connor, a Business Studies and Marketing student, Limerick; Lisa Carey, Human Resources, Analog, Limerick and Michelle Horgan, Co. Clare - who is also a Business Studies and Marketing student. Over 65 companies took part in this year's Careers Fair which was held at the Sports Arena. Organised by the Cooperative Education & Careers Division this is a key event in the graduate recruitment activity of the University. Speaking at the Fair, Mary Sweeney, Head of Careers at UL said: "The Careers Fair provides students and graduates with a unique opportunity to meet with a number of key employers who plan to recruit graduates in a wide range of disciplines in 2003. Some of the participating employers will have immediate vacancies to fill so the Fair is likely to be of interest to recent graduates also. Representatives of these companies will describe their organisations with a view to encouraging students to apply when the vacancies arise". This annual event attracts a wide range of participating companies including local, national and international companies, representing all disciplines.

The 'YES Camp' aims to introduce young people to the excitement, challenges and opportunities presented by engineering with a view to increasing their interest in choosing engineering as a career option. The 'YES Camp' is the first of its kind in these islands and is open to transition and fifth year students from all schools but mainly in the Munster region. The experience was designed to be a fully interactive, action based programme, showing the participants the excitement and satisfaction to be gained from the broad range of engineering activities.
