UL Style Guide
The University of Limerick style guide outlines the English standard for online and printed materials for the University. This guide is for everyone who writes for printed or electronic brochures, prospectuses, reports and journals for alumni, students, businesses, conferences or the media.
The Style Guide will assist us in keeping uniformity across campus in the way we address our audiences and refer to inhouse terms. This coupled with the UL Brand Guidelines will help us to achieve a consistent identity across the campus.
Before you start writing, please read through the guide to get an overview of the type of style issues that are addresses and use it as a reference as your proceed. It also covers common spelling problems, grammar and usage.
The guide can be downloaded here.
The Communications Office is about just that, communications, so if you disagree with anything in the guide or have something to add specific to your department please don't hesitate to contact the Communications Office.
