The Lifesaver Project is a road safety awareness programme aimed at reducing fatal road traffic collisions and serious injury traffic collisions in Limerick City and County. It will be held in the University of Limerick on Thursday 10th February at 12h30. It consists of a realistic crash scene dramatisation staged on the University Plaza followed by a Road Safety Presentation in the Jean Monet Lecture Theatre. The project is a collaboration between the Gardai, the H.S.E, Ambulance Services and the City and County Fire and Rescue Services and is funded by the two Local Authorities.
You are welcome to attend both the crash scene dramatisation taking place on the University Plaza at 12h30 and the Road Safety Presentation in the Jean Monet Lecture Theatre at 13h00. For those who attend the presentation in the Jean Monet, the Road Safety Authority has kindly donated 200 HighVis jackets which are suitable for walkers, joggers and cyclists. In addition, a free raffle will be held for a bicycle and four €50 Halfords Vouchers.
Staff and students are encouraged to attend. The event is being organised by the HR Division and the ULSU as part of 'Road Safety Week'.
