Mexican Ambassador to Ireland visits UL

H.E. Ambassador Carlos Garcia de Alba, Mexican Ambassador to Ireland, was recently welcomed to the University of Limerick by UL President, Professor Don Barry.

The Ambassador was given a tour of the Languages Building and met with Catherine Jeanneau, Language Resource Administrator and Dr David Atkinson, Senior Lecturer in Spanish. Built at a cost of €6.15million, the 1,645sqm Languages Building houses; world class language learning facilities, multimedia and language laboratories, seminar rooms, a Languages Support Unit, open learning areas and academic offices.

The Ambassador also visited the Irish World Academy of Music for a special recital led by Dr Óscar Mascareñas Garza, Course Director, BA Voice and Dance.

Following the tour, the Ambassador met with Olivia Cantoral PhD Student and recipient of the FONCA scholarship from Mexico.
