A University of Limerick student has been named in the top two interns at Ernst and Young (EY) Ireland and will now represent the company at its global internship conference in the United States.

Sarah Murray (Limerick), a second year Bachelor of Business Studies student, majoring in Accounting and French, is one of two Irish students selected to represent EY Ireland at the EY International Internship Leadership Conference (ILLC) in Orlando, Florida. Sarah completed a summer internship with EY in their Limerick office and based on her exceptional performance was chosen as one of EY’s top two interns in Ireland to represent the company at the international conference.

The IILC is an EY event organised especially for top-performing global EY interns. During the conference, EY bring together the best interns from around the world and provide them with the opportunity to learn about EY’s strategy and vision, meet EY’s global leadership, and network with peers. The IILC conference will take place in August 2017.

According to Sarah, “It will be an amazing experience to meet and network with 3,500 other interns. The five-day event will consist of team-building activities, professional workshops and speeches from top management of EY. My education to date at the Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick, and the summer internship at EY will equip me well to take part successfully”.

Marie Donnellan, Senior Manager, EY Regional Head of People and Senior Business Development Manager, said: “We wish Sarah the very best of luck as she prepares to travel to Florida on our International Internship Leadership Conference. The intense level of national competition involved in securing this place is a testament to both Sarah and to all of the faculty at the Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick, for their continued investment in the highest levels of success.”
