Kernel is one of Ireland's largest and most active venture capital funds. The firm has a portfolio of investee companies across, technology, life science and general industry. Kernel Capital and their associate Life Science Investment firm Seroba Kernel (www.seroba-kernel.com) have €196m under management spread across multiple Funds including:

They target opportunities in the €100k to €5m range. The Kernel team have been instrumental in numerous corporate finance and IP licensing transactions totalling several hundred million Euros and are named inventors on over thirty patents. Kernel Capital funds have received investment from Enterprise Ireland under the Seed and Venture Capital Scheme 2000 - 2006 and 2007 - 2012, their Strategic Partner Bank of Ireland, University of Limerick Foundation, National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway) and some of Ireland's leading pension fund managers.
Speaker Bio.
Gavin Bourke has significant experience in the venture capital industry, particularly focused on early and growth stage technology businesses. He joined Kernel Capital as Partner in July 2010. Gavin graduated from University College Cork in 1996 with a First Class Honours B.Comm and commenced his career with KPMG, focusing on the firm's technology client base. He subsequently joined Trinity Venture Capital ("TVC") in 2000. During his ten year tenure at TVC he held non executive directorships covering a broad range of early and growth-stage technology companies. Gavin lead successful exits in a number of companies including APT Licensing Limited, sold to CSR plc; LeT Systems Limited, sold to Trimble Navigation Inc; Telekinesis Research Limited ("Havok"), sold to Intel Inc; Mapflow Limited, sold to SOS Ventures and Steeltrace Limited, sold to Compuware Inc.
