Irish World Academy Students Perform at Thanksgiving Reception Hosted by US Ambassador

Four American students of the Irish World Academy, UL recently performed at a special Thanksgiving reception hosted by the US Ambassador to Ireland, Dan Rooney and his wife Patricia Rooney.

Colin Botts on guitar, Fulbright student Dominique Dodge on the harp, Joanna Hyde on violin and Alec Brown on the cello performed at the interfaith reception, which was held at the Ambassador’s resident in the Phoenix Park.  The event included representatives of all the faiths of Ireland, NGOs working on multicultural and religious issues and many Ambassadors.

Colin, Dominique, Joanne and Alec first performed together at the Daniel Pearl World Music Day held at the University of Limerick in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States in Ireland and the schoolchildren of Moneygall/Dunkerrin Parish.
