The University of Limerick Debating Union recently presented Chief Justice of the Irish Supreme Court Susan Denham with the Debating Union Auditor's Medal in a ceremony that took place last Thursday, November 8th at Plassey House in the UL Campus.

The Auditor's Medal, which bestows Honorary Lifetime Membership status on the recipient, is awarded to individuals by the Debating Union to those that have made significant contributions to the world of discourse and debate. Previous recipients include late former Taoiseach Dr Garrett Fitzgerald who was presented with the Medal in 2011.

This event presented a rare and valuable opportunity for students of all faculties the opportunity to meet Mrs. Justice Denham, the first female member of the judiciary to hold her position and the longest-serving member of the court.
