17 new Jobs as Start-up company iMosphere set up at UL

17 new jobs are to be created at the Nexus Innovation Centre based at the University of Limerick by start-up company iMosphere. This is the second international start-up company to choose the Nexus Innovation Centre at UL as its base in the past two months alone. iMosphere designs and creates data capture IT applications which allow medical professionals to collect, collate and review patient data from a number of sources and thereby improve their healthcare outcomes.  The data capture products also provide healthcare professionals with analytics and reporting capabilities allowing for the constant and complete monitoring of numerous aspects of a patient’s health.  The company is also opening offices in Philadelphia, U.S.A.

 iMosphere is a new company established by FACE UK, which is a major supplier of assessment tools and healthcare software in the UK for the past 20 years.  The new company in Limerick will serve as iMosphere's headquarters for its planned worldwide activities along with hosting it's cloud based solutions. IMosphere has a number of healthcare software solutions for the North American healthcare market and has already begun building sustainable research links healthcare technology academics and biomedical engineers at UL.  Three UL research students have already commenced research work into the areas of visualisation of data, statistical analysis and customisation of research offering.

Dr. Paul Clifford, CEO, iMosphere stated; "We view the Nexus Innovation Centre as a strategic location for our company. We are pleased that we will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with a number of faculties in the university on key research projects that will help position iMosphere as a market leader in healthcare analytics, data creation and management. Dr Mary Shire, Vice President Research, UL stated; “The Nexus Innovation Centre at UL is attracting these international start-up companies as a result of the real research and development links offered by highly qualified researchers and graduates of the University of Limerick.  The opportunity to be based in the centre of the UL campus in the same building as Lero, the Irish Software Engineering Research Centre has gone a long way towards attracting iMosphere here to Limerick and in creating new employment for our region.”

The Nexus Innovation Centre is the latest Enterprise Ireland campus incubation centre to be opened and will support the formation and growth of 35 new high potential start-up (HPSU) companies between 2011 and 2016, generating over 115 new high-value jobs.
