The University of Limerick cordially invites you to a lecture by the Ambassador to Ireland of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Eckhard Lübkemeier: “Why €urope is good for us”

Dr. Eckhard Lübkemeier has been Ambassador to Ireland of the Federal Republic of Germany since August 2011, having previously served as Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in London. He was a Senior Research Fellow at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs in Berlin (2006-7).

Dr Lübkemeier was Deputy Director General for European Affairs at the Federal Chancellery in Berlin (2003-6) and Special Commissioner for Conflict Prevention and Crisis Management as well as Head of Section for European Security and Defence Policy in the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin from 2000 to 2003.

The Ambassador will be introduced by Professor Don Barry, President of the University of Limerick.

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session and a short reception.
