The Performance/Text/Context Research Group at the Academy brings together academics from the fields of literature, folklore, ethnomusicology, ethnochoreology and sociology, interested in exploring and developing related interpretative theoretical approaches across a range of disciplines; with particular focus on performance and performativity as an analytical tool.

Facilitated by Dr Orfhlaith Ni Bhriain, members of the group with interact with the audience in ‘performing words’, inviting those present to suggest a word on which the speakers can extemporize bringing their expertise to the table, creating interpretative creative dialogues with each other and those present.
