Electronic and Computer Engineering Department, UL are hosting the 25th IET Irish Signals & Systems Conference 2014 and are also hosting the 2014 China-Ireland International Conference on Information and Communications Technologies. The conference is sponsored by the University of Limerick, the IET (The Institution of Engineering and Technology), Movidius, The China-Ireland Research Consortium, The Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland (MCCI), Powervation, MIDAS Ireland, ON Semiconductor, Xilinx and Rohde & Schwarz and the International Strategic Collaboration Programme (ISCP China) and Science Foundation Ireland for their support towards the facilitation of CIICT 2014 side of the conference.

The ISSC is the premier annual research forum in Ireland addressing all aspects of signals and systems, focusing on digital signal processing, control and communications. Over the last 25 years, the ISSC has brought together knowledgeable researchers, scientists and engineers, both academic and industrial, from all over Ireland and other parts of the world, to explore developments and advances in above fields.

Featuring plenary talks by

  • Sir John O'Reilly FREng (Director General Knowledge & Innovation, UK Department for Business, Innovation & Skills);
  • Professor Ahmed Al-Shamma'a (Director of BEST Research Institute, Liverpool John Moores University, UK);
  • Professor Yu Hu (Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China); and
  • Professor Qun Liu (DCU/Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China).

Plus a special Industry Plenary Session/Panel featuring speakers: Dr David Moloney - Senior Vice President, Movidius Ltd, Ireland; Mr Brendan Farley - Senior Director, Xilinx Inc.; and Mr Pat O'Connor - Director of Engineering, Microsoft Corporation.
