How to make an application

The application process for mature students to UL varies, depending on what type of programme you wish to apply for. Please click on one of the links below for the relevant information:

Full-time undergraduate programmes

You must be at least 23 or older by 1st January in the year in which you wish to start your study, to be considered a mature student applicant.  Applications for full-time undergraduate programmes are made directly to the Admissions Office in UL (other than applications for Nursing - please see below).  The deadline for applications for entry in September 2013 is 1st May 2013.  Applications can be made online or if you prefer to complete a hard copy application, please contact the Admissions Office on 061-202015 or email admissions@ul.ie for an application pack.

There is one exception - mature students applying for Nursing degrees must apply through the CAO by 1st February 2013.  There is no late application through CAO for mature students wishing to study Nursing. For information on the CAO / Nursing application process you can log on to www.cao.ie or www.nursingcareers.ie. Candidates should note that there are specific CAO codes for mature applicants to nursing. These are as follows:

  • LM151 Mature Applicants General Nursing
  • LM153 Mature Applicants Mental Health Nursing
  • LM155 Mature Applicants Disability Nursing
  • LM157 Mature Applicants Midwifery
