Unique and Distinctive - Highlights from the Glucksman Library at the University of Limerick

Welcome to ‘Unique and Distinctive – Highlights from the Glucksman Library at the University of Limerick’ blog and resource of the Special Collections and Archives Department.

Special Collections was formed within the Glucksman Library in 1998, and was established as a standalone department in 2002. The department now contains a large and growing collection of early and modern printed books as well as over 200 archival collections. These collections will inform our blog and resource and bring the unique holdings of the Glucksman Library to a wider audience in a challenging time in our history.

‘Unique and Distinctive’ is part of the research strategy of the Library to create and share digital resources from Special Collections and Archives.

The broad range of holdings from the earliest manuscripts in the Bolton Library to the 150,000+ negatives in the Shannon Development Photographic archive provide a global canvas of works for study and research.

We hope that you will find something of interest in our new communications and resources site and please take the time to register for the latest updates in our collections and services.
