Thank you to all those who completed the library survey in November 2018.  We were delighted to present the library survey prizes, drawn randomly from the respondents.  They are…

  • Shane Fitzpatrick, undergraduate law student, who won the Oculus Go VR Headset, sponsored by RKD Architects (new library architects)
  • Dean Tierney, undergraduate chemical sciences student, who won the Echo Dot speaker with Alexa, sponsored by Telepen (library access gates supplier)
  • Shannen Smith, undergraduate business student, who won a 100e One4All voucher, sponsored by Ex Libris (library management system supplier)
  • Roxanne Patel, postgraduate student in Languages, Literature & Linguistics, who won a 100e One4All voucher, sponsored by Radiant Ireland (AV software supplier)
  • Mike Quayle, academic staff member in Psychology, who won a 150e One4All voucher, sponsored by Sheelins Furniture (supplier of much of the seating in the new library)

A total of 1,530 surveys were completed, with 764 people giving free text comments.  Much of the feedback was an overwhelmingly positive response to the new library, with lots of suggestions about how it could be improved.

We were able to introduce some developments immediately, such as extending opening hours, initiating the Every Seat Counts campaign, arranging for the repair of power at study desks, correcting an issue with the Wi-Fi and installing water fountains.  We will analyse the results in depth and as always, put a series of improvements in place as part of our 2019 plan and our continuous improvement programme.  More information is available in our Customer Feedback page.
